Garrapata Tanks Slope Repair

CalAm contracted DD&A to assist with emergency permitting necessary to stabilize the slope below two of CalAm's tanks in the Garrapata area of Big Sur, California. DD&A communicated and coordinated with the County of Monterey on requirements of the emergency permitting, conducted biological surveys, prepared a preliminary biological report, managed the cultural subconsultant work, and prepared the emergency permit application. The County of Monterey determined that the project did not qualify as an emergency, and therefore required the preparation of a CEQA document and acquisition of the appropriate regulatory permits. CalAm contracted with DD&A to prepare an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND), a Coastal Development Permit Application, and a Habitat Conservation Plan for Section 10 Consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for potential impacts to the federally endangered Smith's blue butterfly.
