Monterey Bay Boatworks
Monterey Bay Boatworks contracted DD&A to provide environmental services for the Dock Extension Project. The project included the construction of 594 linear feet of guest docks and amenities and the addition of seven slips for permanent boaters to the existing 80-slip Monterey Boatworks dock. DD&A was responsible for conducting field review and preparing a biological report for the project. Special-status species that were identified as being near or within the project vicinity included the southern sea otter, the Steller sea lion, and the Guadalupe fur seal, all of which are state and federally protected animals. DD&A assisted with Section 7 consultation with the National Marine Fisheries Service and NEPA compliance for a grant application. As a function of the grant application process.Special construction mitigation regarding equipment use was suggested for implementation in order to protect the quality of the marine habitat adjacent to the project site.
Monterey Bay Boatworks also contracted DD&A to prepare visual simulations for the proposed harbor modifications. DD&A photographed the existing conditions at the Boatworks docks and digitally manipulated the photographs to show proposed conditions. Below are some of the finished products produced for the visual simulation analysis.
