Job Description
DD&A is looking for a motivated individual to join our energetic, successful team of planners and scientists. We seek to hire an Environmental Planner for our office in Monterey, California. This position will add to our multidisciplinary team of environmental professionals. DD&A, Inc. welcomes responses from all qualified applicants with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant CEQA/NEPA experience and knowledge of current environmental regulations. The candidate will be responsible to prepare environmental compliance documents in accordance with CEQA and NEPA, including: Initial Studies, Negative Declarations, Environmental Impact Reports, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, and exemptions/exclusions; direct and oversee preparation of environmental permit applications with various federal, state, and local agencies for a variety of project types/sizes; managing project assignments including providing direction for work assignments, review and collaboration on deliverables, performance reviews, and career development advocacy and mentoring; meeting and hearing attendance and presentations; prepare effective proposals, and take an active leadership role in the development of new business with new and existing clients. In addition, supplemental technical experience with air quality, cultural resources, coastal resiliency, hazardous materials, hazard mitigation, and/or noise are desirable.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Policy and/or Land Planning or related field (Masters preferred)
Proficiency in environmental document preparation (CEQA/NEPA)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in environmental planning or related field
Knowledge of California and federal environmental law and resource protection principles
Strong writing, editing, presentation and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
Able to multi-task, work independently and meet strict deadlines
Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
